 Starting against South Sudan

The Scoop:Davis dealt with an illness ahead of the Olympics but was still able to suit up in Sunday's matchup against Serbia as the United States began Olympic play. He tallied seven points (3-6 FG, 1-1 FT), eight rebounds, an assist and a steal in 19 minutes during the 110-84 win over Serbia and will replace Joel Embiid in Wednesday's starting lineup.

Expected to play Sunday

The Scoop: After missing several practices for Team USA throughout the week, Davis is expected to play in the squad's opening game of the group phase. The 31-year-old will likely fight for playing time with Bam Adebayo behind Joel Embiid, although Kerr could switch up the rotation and opt to pair Embiid and Davis together in the frontcourt. Davis is coming off a great season, during which he played a career-high 76 regular-season games and averaged 24.7 points, 12.6 rebounds, 3.5 assists and 2.3 blocks.

Battles through shoulder injury
Davis suffered a left shoulder injury during the third quarter of Monday's Game 5 against the Nuggets but was able to return after visiting the locker room. He recorded 17 points (8-11 FG, 1-2 FT), 15 rebounds, four assists and two blocks across 40 minutes in the loss.

The Scoop: Davis suffered the injury early in the third quarter on a play during which he took contact to his left shoulder, and though he was able to remain in the contest immediately afterward, he was barely able to use his left arm. The 31-year-old exited the game with four minutes left in the third quarter and went to the locker room, later returning for the final period. The injury seemed to impact Davis on the offensive end of the court, forcing LeBron James and Austin Reaves to shoulder heavy workloads down the stretch. Davis dominated on the glass throughout the opening-round series, averaging 15.6 boards over five games.

Good to go for Game 5
Davis (wrist) will play in Monday's Game 5 against the Nuggets, Mike Trudell of Spectrum SportsNet reports.

The Scoop: Davis was added to the injury report as probable due to a left wrist sprain, and as anticipated, he'll be able to play through the injury Monday evening. LeBron James (ankle) has also been cleared to play, so the Lakers will have both top contributors available in a must-win game.

Likely to play in Game 5
Davis (wrist) is probable for Monday's Game 5 against the Nuggets, Khobi Price of The Orange County Register reports.

The Scoop: Davis was questionable for Saturday's Game 4 due to his left wrist sprain, but he suited up and tallied 25 points, 23 rebounds, six assists and a block in 42 minutes. Assuming he's available Monday, it seems unlikely that he'll face any restrictions.
