 Signing with Clippers

The Scoop:Jones will join the Clippers after a successful one-year stop in Dallas. Jones' defense and shot-making ability were key in Dallas' playoff run and made him a sought-after piece ahead of next season. With the Clippers likely parting ways with many key pieces, Jones will likely play a significant role for the team.

Efficient in Game 5 loss
Jones provided 10 points (4-8 FG, 1-4 3Pt, 1-2 FT) and one block in 22 minutes during Monday's 106-88 loss to Boston in Game 5 of the NBA Finals.

The Scoop: Jones started all 22 playoff games for the Mavericks and averaged 9.1 points, 3.5 rebounds, 1.2 assists and 1.0 blocks while shooting 48.1 percent from the field. The 27-year-old came into his first season with the team after struggling to carve out a role with the Bulls during two years in Chicago. Jones will enter the offseason as an unrestricted free agent, and his play throughout this season will likely earn him more interest around the league than last summer.

Solid in Game 2
Jones notched 11 points (4-7 FG, 0-3 3Pt, 3-3 FT), three rebounds, two assists, one block and one steal in 32 minutes during Sunday's 105-98 loss to the Celtics in Game 2 of the NBA Finals.

The Scoop: Jones improved on his five-point performance from Game 1, but he struggled from distance. He also didn't offer much defensive resistance despite managing a block and a steal. The forward will look to improve again in Game 3 at home, where he's averaged 11.6 points, 4.1 rebounds, 1.6 assists and 1.0 blocks in the postseason.

Little impact in Game 1
Jones ended Thursday's 107-89 loss to Boston in Game 1 of the NBA Finals with five points (2-9 FG, 1-2 3Pt), six rebounds and one steal in 29 minutes.

The Scoop: Jones struggled inside the arc and wasn't able to catch any signature lob dunks, largely due to the interior presence of Kristaps Porzingis. Game 1 also marked the first time he's failed to record an assist since Game 4 against the Clippers.

Pours in 22 points Saturday
Jones totaled 22 points (8-13 FG, 4-6 3Pt, 2-2 FT), four rebounds, two assists, one block and one steal in 40 minutes during Saturday's 117-116 victory over Oklahoma City in Game 6 of the Western Conference Semifinals.

The Scoop: Jones scored at least 17 points for the third straight game, playing a season-high 40 minutes as the Mavericks took care of business in front of their home fans. Jones' offensive output has been a blessing for the Mavericks, providing them with another viable scoring threat alongside Kyrie Irving and Luka Doncic. Coming up against either the Nuggets or the Timberwolves in the Western Conference Finals is a daunting task. If Dallas is to pose a serious threat, Jones may need to maintain his offensive momentum.
