The Scoop:Giles led the team in rebounds during Thursday's victory. The two-way player has now racked up a double-double in each of his first two appearances with South Bay.

Cut by Brooklyn
The Nets will waive Giles on Thursday, Chris Haynes of Turner Sports reports.

The Scoop: Once considered the top prep recruit in the Class of 2016, Giles has since dealt with multiple serious knee injuries that have hindered his development. Following a two-year hiatus from the NBA, Giles made his return to the league with the Nets but appeared in just 16 games for Brooklyn and was never a regular member of head coach Jacque Vaughn's rotation. The 25-year-old will try to catch on with another team, but he may have to reboot his career in the G League or overseas before getting his next NBA opportunity.

Recalled from G League
Brooklyn recalled Giles from the G League's Long Island Nets on Saturday.

The Scoop: Giles was recalled after being sent to the G League earlier Saturday. The 25-year-old was sent to Long Island likely to get additional practice reps.

Rare appearance Friday
Giles amassed zero points (0-1 FG, 0-1 3Pt) and one rebound across five minutes during Friday's 130-112 victory over the Lakers.

The Scoop: Giles cracked the rotation for just the second time in the past seven games, failing to score in five minutes. Having played in only 12 games all season, Giles has been unable to carve out a consistent role, even with injuries to other players. There is obviously nothing to see here from a fantasy perspective.

Scores in double figures off bench
Giles ended with 11 points (4-9 FG, 0-1 3Pt, 3-3 FT), six rebounds, one assist and one steal over 15 minutes during Thursday's 124-101 loss to the Nuggets.

The Scoop: Giles has now appeared in three of the last four games for Brooklyn, and he played double-digit minutes for the parent club for the first time this season Thursday. While he had an encouraging stat line against the Nuggets, he's unlikely to be a reliable fantasy contributor moving forward, as he's averaging just 6.8 points and 2.0 rebounds in 7.2 minutes per game over five appearances in the NBA this season.
