| The Hornets waived Simmons on Wednesday. The Scoop:Simmons appeared in the final five games for Charlotte last year, marking his first NBA appearance since 2018-19. However, after drafting Nick Smith (undisclosed) and Brandon Miller, there wasn't any room for Simmons. The Arizona product will likely have to settle for a G League deal or may head overseas again. The Scoop: After signing with the team March 29, Simmons appeared in very limited fashion over the last five games of the season. The 25-year-old was a steady contributor during his limited opportunities, but he struggled to find his shot, making just one of six attempts from the field on the year.
