Bogdan Bogdanovic: Sun, Jan 10, 2021
The Hawks announced that Bogdanovic has an avulsion fracture in his right knee with associated soft tissue inflammation and a bone bruise. The team said it will update a timetable for his return after he's further evaluated later in the week.

The Scoop: Expect Bogdanovic, averaging 9.9 points per game and shooting 36.2 percent from 3-point range in his first season in Atlanta, to be sidelined for multiple weeks. Kevin Huerter, Cam Reddish and Tony Snell could all get more looks as a result of the injury.

The Hawks held the momentum for much of the game. Early on, Trae Young was hard to stop, and the Nets never quite got a handle on Collins, the Hawks big man who finished with 30 points and 10 rebounds. Atlanta is a team that can match much of Brooklyn’s firepower: Bogdan Bogdanovic came off the Hawks bench and scored 22 points, and Danilo Gallinari could have made a difference had he not sprained his ankle three minutes after checking in.

The Scoop: None.

Trae Young scored 29 points, Bogdan Bogdanovic added 17 and the Atlanta Hawks beat the Detroit Pistons 128-120 in their home opener Monday night. John Collins finished with 15 points for the Hawks, who are 3-0 for the first time since 2016-17 and hit 20 3-pointers while shooting 47.6% beyond the arc. Young’s 3 from the right wing put Atlanta up 122-112 with 1:47 remaining before Jerami Grant’s 3 trimmed the lead to five with 1:05 left.

The Scoop: None.
