Three weeks ago the 76ers announced they were bringing in former Chester High and Saint Joseph’s great Jameer Nelson to be part of the front office staff. Wednesday, the position became official. The 76ers announced that Nelson will indeed serve as the assistant general manager of the Delaware Blue Coats, the team’s affiliate in the NBA G League.

Chester High and Saint Joseph’s University great Jameer Nelson is getting back in the NBA. NBC Sports Philadelphia reported that the Sixers will hire the former Clippers and Hawks standout and longtime NBA point guard as a scout and assistant general manager for the Delaware Blue Coats, the organization's G League affiliate. The 38-year-old Nelson was the 2000 Daily Times boys basketball Player of the Year after leading the Clippers to the PIAA Class 4A title that year.
