Game ETLatest Player News...
Herro ended Wednesday's 118-84 loss to the Celtics in Game 5 of the first round of the Eastern Conference playoffs with 15 points (6-19 FG, 1-8 3Pt, 2-2 FT), three rebounds and three assists across 35 minutes.

The Scoop:Herro was forced to embrace a more prominent role on offense due to the absences of Jimmy Butler (knee) and Terry Rozier (neck) in the series against the Celtics. While the numbers were decent across the board, he struggled badly in terms of efficiency and shooting percentages. Over the five games of the series, Herro made just 38.5 percent of his shots from the field and 34.9 percent of his three-pointers. He averaged 16.8 points per game, but that was not enough to lift Miami to victory against the team with the best record in the NBA.

Poor shooting effort in Game 3
Herro finished with 15 points (5-16 FG, 3-9 3Pt, 2-2 FT), two rebounds and two assists in 33 minutes during Saturday's 104-84 loss to the Celtics in Game 3 of the first round of the Eastern Conference playoffs.

The Scoop: Herro had a rough outing Saturday, as he had a tough time when matched up against Jaylen Brown, and he finished the game with more field-goal attempts than points scored. That's not an encouraging performance from a player that needs to steps up offensively, particularly with Jimmy Butler (knee) sidelined. Through three games in the current series against the Celtics, Herro has gone 16-for-42 from the field while failing to surpass the 15-point mark twice.

Leads offensively in double-double
Herro posted 24 points (7-13 FG, 6-11 3Pt, 4-4 FT), 14 assists, five rebounds and one steal over 38 minutes in Wednesday's 111-101 win over Boston in Game 2 of the Eastern Conference first round.

The Scoop: Herro stepped up big for Miami in a bounce-back win in Game 2, leading all players in the contest in threes made and assists while leading all Heat players in scoring in an impressive outing. Herro set a season high in assists for any Miami player this year, and he tied the second-most dimes by a Heat player in a playoff game in team history. Miami will need Herro to continue to step up offensively, especially with Jimmy Butler (knee) inactive.

Wills team to victory
Herro accumulated 24 points (8-17 FG, 4-9 3Pt, 4-4 FT), 10 rebounds and nine assists in 33 minutes during Friday's 112-91 Play-In Game victory over the Bulls.

The Scoop: Herro was the star of the show in this one, and while he didn't have a great shooting night by any means, he had a more controlled approach after knocking down nine of 27 attempts from the field Tuesday against the 76ers. The Kentucky product did much more than score in the win, falling just one assist shy of a triple-double. The Heat will need more performances like this from Herro heading into the team's opening-round series against the Celtics.

Paces team in scoring in loss
Herro registered 25 points (9-27 FG, 4-14 3Pt, 3-3 FT), two rebounds and nine assists over 41 minutes during Wednesday's 105-104 Play-In Game loss to Philadelphia.

The Scoop: Although Herro needed 27 shots to score 25 shots, the uptick in usage rate happened largely due to Jimmy Butler suffering a knee injury in the first quarter, which limited him considerably, and Bam Adebayo had a rough matchup with Joel Embiid. Herro has reached the 20-point mark in four of his last six outings, and considering Butler will miss Friday's win-or-go-home matchup against the Bulls, Herro should be in line for another heavy usage rate against Chicago.
