Greivis Vasquez hopes to return to the Nets next season.

New York Post

The Scoop:Vasquez played in just three games for Brooklyn this season after signing a one-year, $4.3 million deal. Vasquez's ankle simply wasn't healthy enough to withstand an NBA pounding. "The last two years, I played 23 or 24 games with a badly atrophied ankle,'' Vasquez said. "They cut a bit of the tibia to create space in that area. It is called distraction surgery." He is "hopeful" he can recover in time for next season, but obviously has no fantasy value.

Dallas Mavericks rookie Dennis Smith Jr. has signed an endorsement deal with Under Armour that could pay him as much as $6 million over the next three years, according to ESPN’s Nick DePaula. The ninth overall pick in this past June’s draft, Smith reportedly entered summer league without a deal in hopes of increasing offers from major apparel companies, and his highlight reel in Las Vegas apparently opened the door for an incentive-laden deal that could pay him up to $2 million annually. Smith joins an NBA roster at Under Armour headlined by two-time MVP Stephen Curry and featuring a crop of others who have experienced various levels of success, including Seth Curry, Kent Bazemore, Emmanuel Mudiay, Brandon Jennings, Patty Mills, Greivis Vasquez and fellow rookie Josh Jackson.

Greivis Vasquez played in just three games last season for the Brooklyn Nets due to injury. Here’s what he told Baltimore’s 105.7 The Fan, via Chase Hughes of CSNMidAtlantic.com. If healthy — and that’s a big if — Vasquez would be a solid backup point guard, one who can shoot the rock and is a capable playmaker.
