 Qualifies for Paris Olympics

The Scoop:For the first time in his career, Antetokounmpo will lead Greece in the Olympic Games. The two-time MVP has never qualified for the games, but Greece is set for a trip to Paris, extending the 29-year-old's offseason action after he missed the NBA playoffs with a left soleus strain. The All-Star appeared in three FIBA Olympic Qualifying Tournament matchups, during which he averaged 22.7 points, 4.7 rebounds, 2.3 assists, 1.0 blocks and 1.0 steals. Antetokounmpo and Greece will return to action against Canada on July 27, the nation's first appearance in the Olympic Games since 2008.

The Scoop: Antetokounmpo put up a solid outing as Greece cruised past Luka Doncic and Slovenia, preventing them from a trip to the Paris Olympics. Antetokounmpo played in 73 regular-season games last season, during which he averaged 30.4 points, 11.5 rebounds, 6.5 assists, 1.2 steals and 1.1 blocks across 35.2 minutes. The All-Star also shot a career-high 61.1 percent from the field; however, he was unable to make an appearance in the playoffs due to a left soleus strain. Antetokounmpo and Greece are now one win away from joining Canada and Australia in Group A for the Paris Olympics.

The Scoop: Despite continuing to deal with a calf injury, Antetokounmpo's absence Thursday is attributed to rest. The superstar forward should be available for the remainder of the Olympic Qualifying Tournament.

Will be limited Thursday
Antetokounmpo (calf) practiced Wednesday and will be used on a minute restriction during Greece's Acropolis Tournament game against the Bahamas on Thursday, Harris Stavrou of SPORT24 reports.

The Scoop: Antetokounmpo sat out Greece's opener of the exhibition tournament but will suit up Thursday and get some game action before the Olympic Qualifying Tournament, which begins July 2. The NBA superstar hasn't played since suffering a left soleus strain during a regular-season game against the Celtics on April 9.

Won't play in Acropolis opener
Antetokounmpo (calf) is out for Tuesday's Acropolis Tournament game against Montenegro, Harris Stavrou of Sport24 reports.

The Scoop: Antetokounmpo will have another chance to suit up Thursday when Greece faces the Bahamas. However, it wouldn't be surprising to see the NBA superstar sit out the exhibition tournament entirely and focus on being as close to 100 percent as possible for the Olympic Qualifying Tournament, which begins July 2. Antetokounmpo said at the beginning of June that he's planning to play in the Olympics.
