Game ETLatest Player News...
Beal underwent a minor procedure to realign his septum shortly after the Suns were eliminated from the 2024 NBA Playoffs, Duane Rankin of The Arizona Republic reports.

The Scoop:Beal broke his nose after taking an elbow from Myles Turner during the second half of a Jan. 26 loss to the Pacers and had to wear a mask for several games. He eventually ditched the mask but still had trouble breathing out of his right nostril during the final months of the campaign. After dropping 36 points on the Timberwolves in the regular-season finale, Beal averaged just 16.5 points during the opening-round series as Minnesota swept Phoenix. Beal is expected to play a key role for the Suns next season, but things are subject to change, as Phoenix fired Frank Vogel early in the offseason and quickly hired Mike Budenholzer.

Ineffective in Game 4 loss
Beal posted nine points (4-13 FG, 1-5 3Pt), one rebound, two assists and one block over 31 minutes before fouling out of Sunday's 122-116 loss to Minnesota in Game 4 of the first round of the Western Conference playoffs.

The Scoop: This was Beal's worst game of the playoffs, and it resulted in the Suns getting swept by the Timberwolves in the first round. For the fifth straight campaign, Beal was unable to eclipse 60 games and struggled with injuries. He ended up making 53 appearances in his first season with the Suns, posting averages of 18.2 points, 5.0 assists, 4.4 rebounds, 1.0 steals and 1.9 three-pointers.

Scores team-high 28 points Friday
Beal finished Friday's 126-109 loss to the Timberwolves in Game 3 of the first round of the Western Conference playoffs with 28 points (10-19 FG, 6-11 3Pt, 2-2 FT), four rebounds and four assists in 43 minutes.

The Scoop: Beal led the Suns in scoring Friday, but as has been the case throughout the series, Phoenix simply hasn't been able to hang with the Timberwolves throughout an entire game, which explains the 0-3 series deficit the Suns are currently in. This was the first team Beal surpassed the 15-point mark in the series, and the veteran guard will need to keep the momentum going for Game 4 on Sunday if the Suns want to avoid getting swept in the first round.

Passive performance Tuesday
Beal posted 14 points (6-17 FG, 2-4 3Pt), four rebounds and six assists across 42 minutes during Tuesday's 105-93 loss to the Timberwolves in Game 2 of the Western Conference Quarterfinals.

The Scoop: Beal was relatively quiet in the loss, much like his teammates. Despite keeping it close, Phoenix was simply overwhelmed by the Timberwolves, both inside and outside the paint. Now trailing 2-0 in the series, the Suns will look to get back on track Friday when they host Game 3.

Erupts for 36 in finale
Beal posted 36 points (14-21 FG, 6-6 3Pt, 2-2 FT), six rebounds, five assists, one block and two steals across 38 minutes during Sunday's 125-106 victory over Minnesota.

The Scoop: The 30-year-old guard closed out the regular season in style, producing his best scoring effort since he dropped 43 points against the Wizards on Feb. 4. Beal went nine straight games in late March and early April without scoring more than 15 points but has built up plenty of momentum heading into the playoffs -- over the Suns' last five contests he scored 20-plus four times, averaging 26.8 points, 6.0 boards, 4.2 assists, 3.8 threes, 1.8 blocks and 1.0 steals while shooting a blistering 61.4 percent from the floor and an incredible 73.1 percent (19-for-26) from beyond the arc.
