Wall (abdomen) was notified that he'll be waived by the Rockets on Thursday, Chris Haynes of Turner Sports reports.

The Scoop:Wall got traded from the Clippers to the Rockets in a three-team deal before the NBA's trade deadline. The veteran point guard will soon become a free agent if he passes through the league's waivers unclaimed. Expect Wall to receive interest from plenty of contending teams seeking experienced backcourt depth.

John Wall: Sent to Houston, slated for buyout
The Rockets acquired Wall (abdomen), Danny Green and a 2023 first-round pick swap Thursday in a three-team deal that sent Eric Gordon and three second-round picks to the Clippers and Luke Kennard to the Grizzlies, Shams Charania of The Athletic reports.

The Scoop: Though Wall has now been shipped to Houston for the second time in his career, Mark Berman of Fox 26 Houston reports that the veteran point guard is expected to be bought out of his contract before ever donning a Rockets uniform. Wall, who is recovering from an abdominal strain that has kept him sidelined since mid-January, averaged 11.4 points, 5.2 assists and 2.7 rebounds over 22.2 minutes in his 34 appearances for the Clippers this season. When healthy, Wall should attract plenty of interest from contending teams looking to add an experienced point guard to its bench.

John Wall: No target date for return
Clippers head coach Tyronn Lue said Tuesday that Wall (abdomen) remains without a specific target date to return to game action, Andrew Greif of the Los Angeles Times reports.

The Scoop: Lue noted that Wall is getting "closer" to playing again, but a firm timeline for him to return may not become clear until he's able to resume taking part in full-contact practice. Wall is already listed out ahead of Tuesday's game versus the Bulls, and based on the Lue's comments, the veteran point guard can probably be ruled out for the Clippers' remaining two games this week (Thursday at Milwaukee, Saturday at New York) as well.

John Wall: Out at least two weeks
Clippers head coach Tyronn Lue said Sunday that Wall has been diagnosed with an abdominal strain and will be re-evaluated in two weeks, Law Murray of The Athletic reports.

The Scoop: Wall miss nine games during the upcoming two-week stretch, and likely additional time beyond that given that he'll presumably need some ramp-up time even if his re-evaluation at the end of the month brings favorable news. While Wall is sidelined, Lue confirmed that Reggie Jackson -- who didn't play in either of the last two games -- will re-enter the Clippers' rotation as the backup to newly installed starting point guard Terance Mann, per Ohm Youngmisuk of ESPN.com.

John Wall: Sitting out Sunday
Wall (abdomen) won't be available for Sunday's game against the Rockets, Law Murray of The Athletic reports.

The Scoop: With Wall sidelined, the Clippers will most likely reopen a spot in the rotation for Reggie Jackson as the backup point guard behind Terance Mann. Before experiencing abdominal soreness, Wall had suited up in each of the Clippers' last four games and averaged 10.0 points, 5.3 assists and 3.3 rebounds in 23.0 minutes per contest.
