Boston signed with the Spurs on Friday, Paul Garcia of ProjectSpurs.com reports. The Scoop:Boston became an unrestricted free agent after the Clippers didn't tender him a $2.48 million qualifying offer at the end of June. After appearing in 51 regular-season games as a rookie in 2021, Boston saw a reduced role in his subsequent two campaigns with the Clippers. Entering his age-23 season, Boston is still a young prospect with room to grow, but he'll have an uphill battle to make the Spurs' initial regular-season roster. Aug 9 3:49 ET - | ||||||||

Expected to enter free agency The Clippers won't tender a $2.48 million qualifying offer to Boston on Saturday, making him an unrestricted free agent, Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN reports. The Scoop: The No. 51 overall pick in the 2021 NBA Draft, Boston appeared in 51 regular-season contests as a rookie, but he didn't see his role expand in any of the subsequent two seasons. The 22-year-old ended up making just 32 appearances in 2023-24, averaging 5.2 points, 1.6 rebounds, 0.4 assists and 0.3 steals across 10.8 minutes per contest. Boston is still young, and he will likely garner interest as a player who has potential as a rotational player moving forward. Jun 29 2:10 ET |
Rare appearance Friday Boston finished with three points (1-2 FG, 1-2 FT) and one rebound in three minutes during Friday's 101-90 loss to the Mavericks in Game 3 of the first round of the Western Conference playoffs. The Scoop: Boston played three minutes in garbage time, something the Clippers will be hoping doesn't repeat itself. Although the final score was relatively close, the Mavericks took control early in this one and now hold a 2-1 series lead over a Clippers team in need of a spark. Apr 27 3:33 ET |
Notches 15 points Boston chipped in 15 points (5-16 FG, 2-6 3Pt, 3-4 FT), six rebounds, three assists and four steals across 31 minutes during Sunday's 116-105 loss to the Rockets. The Scoop: Boston didn't have the most efficient night, but he filled the stat sheet and recorded a career-high four steals. Boston saw extended minutes Sunday with most of the key players for Los Angeles resting, but he could potentially have a role in the playoffs if Kawhi Leonard (knee) can't shake his knee issue. Hits season highs in points, boards Boston amassed 23 points (10-24 FG, 2-9 3Pt, 1-2 FT), seven rebounds, two assists, one block and two steals in 40 minutes during Wednesday's 124-108 loss to the Suns. The Scoop: Boston led all bench players in Wednesday's contest in scoring and rebounds while adding a pair of steals and setting a new season high in scoring in a losing effort. Boston posted his first game of the year with 20 or more points while notching his third outing with a double-digit point total. He also recorded a new season high in rebounds, ending with five or more boards for the second time. Apr 11 2:38 ET |
